Position Title: Pre-Press Operator
Position Requirements: Full-Time Position

Caidan Management Company is currently seeking a Pre-Press Operator for the Information Systems Department.  The Pre-Press Operator is responsible for all incoming production orders. They will be responsible for entering, censoring, timely batching and transmittal of orders as dictated by delivery objectives. This includes direct responsibility to training and directing all order personnel on processing and censoring of all incoming production orders.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Loading paper in digital press and offline finishing equipment.
  • Creation and Pre-flight of files.
  • Image and Color registration.
  • Calibration
  • Trouble shooting of files and image errors.
  • Regular quality control check of output to maintain quality standards set by the company.
  • Preparation of output for delivery to offsite mail house.
  • Handle and satisfactorily answer all complaints in connection with delivery delays, order errors and quality problems.
  • Correct interpretation and use of all products from knowledge training and by use of actual product samples and product description manuals.
  • Liaison with Manager of Marketing on files and/or artwork needed, new products, creating new forms, etc.
  • Assist with Mailroom, sorting and delivery of mail, postage and shipping service communications.
  • Manage production planning; scheduling, estimating and processing of orders to meet delivery objectives
  • Data entry, design, communications, archiving of files, purge files, input new or changes to formats and maintain log.
  • Provide training for new and existing employees.
  • Sort and distribute all incoming mail to the correct person/department.
  • Deliver returned mail to the correct person/department. (“Return to Sender”)
  • Keep storage rooms organized and monitor inventory of envelopes, letterhead and shipping supplies on a weekly basis.
  • Ensures support and schedules maintenance of the digital press.

High School Diploma required.  One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Graphics arts experience. MECCA III Software and Unix Netware desirable. Basic computer knowledge and general office operations. Knowledge of postage rates and prior use of postage meter preferred. Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Variable Data Printing Software. Computer literate in a graphic arts environment preferred. Hardware & Software:  ImagePRESS 7000VP and ImagePRESS Server A3100 V2 Integrated IF & Stand. Variable Data Software Included: PlanetPress PRODUCTION, ObjectifLune, POD Deck-A1, High Capacity Stacker-C1 (with additional Dolly), Document Insertion Unit-C1, Saddle Finisher AB2, Puncher Unit V1, Duplo, Off-Line Finishing, DC-645 DocuCutter (addition of Business Card Module), DF-TAB920 Folder/Tabber and 490P Guillotine Cutter
